The Rideau Hall Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the Jeanne Sauvé Mentorship Program, a new initiative helping Queen Elizabeth Scholars (QES) alumni unlock their leadership potential and enhance their professional growth.

The pilot version of the program, starting in March 2025, connects QES alumni with experienced mentors from a variety of sectors. The goal is to foster professional growth, build networks, and address pressing challenges facing both Canada and the global community.

Mentors and mentees will work together over a nine-month period, meeting virtually at least six times. The mentorship aims to provide direction, guidance, and valuable connections to support the professional growth of QES alumni. One of the features of this program is the opportunity for mentees to propose a project to build on their QES research and experience, or to further their professional development. Approved projects will be eligible for up to $7,500 in funding.

This program is designed to provide a meaningful experience for both mentors and mentees, with a focus on collaboration, growth, and actionable impact.

The first round of mentors and mentees have been selected for this initial phase of the program. However, there will be an opportunity for QES alumni to apply for mentorship and for mentors to volunteer later this year. Join QES Connect to find out about more.

The Right Honourable Jeanne Sauvé was a woman of firsts: the first female MP from Québec to serve as a cabinet minister, Canada’s first female Speaker of the House, and the country’s first female Governor General, becoming the 23rd Governor General of Canada. A lifelong believer in the power of youth, she created the Jeanne Sauvé Foundation to foster leadership opportunities and build networks that connect, engage, and empower new generations of public leadership in Canada and around the world to address key global challenges.

The RHF is grateful for the support of the Jeanne Sauvé Foundation in helping to create this unique mentorship initiative that builds on the success and global impact of the Queen Elizabeth Scholars program
